If you are looking for a way to create online demos or tutorials of your organization’s application software, web site or intranet, here are two programs you should know about:

RoboDemo 3.0 and ViewletBuilder 3 both provide graphical authoring environments into which you can place screenshots, text notes, interactive buttons and other elements to create professional animated presentations. Once you’re satisfied with the content of your presentation, both programs then compile them into a compact Flash file that can easily be posted to your Web site or intranet (RoboHelp can also publish to CD, e-mail and even Pocket PCs!).

The strategic advantage of these programs is that they enable executives who are not graphical designers to create tutorials and demos quickly and easily — without any knowledge of Macromedia’s powerful but complex Flash authoring environment. Both represent potentially powerful tools for publishing e-learning materials. I have played around with ViewletBuilder, and have found it to be both compelling and just a bit frustrating to work with. In the coming weeks, I hope to try out RoboHelp.

If you need to create any kind of a tutorial or demonstration of software or Web services, why not give one of these ingenious software programs a try?
