In a recent post in his M.A.P. Maker Blog, Curt Rosengren reveals a simple technique that you can utilize for self-exploration – and to generate creative ideas.
“An image can provide a springboard for your mind to explore and make associations,” he explains.
To utilize this technique, you simply go to the Flickr website and do a search based on a keyword that is related to your current problem or challenge. Scan the pictures in the search results, select one that jumps out at you, and ask yourself how you can apply it to your current challenge?
This can be a powerful way to explore some fresh pathways of thinking, and can lead you to some truly innovative solutions. What’s nice is that Flickr is always there, and is constantly growing with new images that can serve as catalysts to invoke your creative muse. Why not give this ideation technique a try?
