Appreciative inquiry

Appreciative inquiry is a new approach to looking at organizational change, and it's the focus of Joyce Wycoff's latest post at the Heads Up on Organizational Innovation Weblog.

Appreciative inquiry is a new approach to looking at organizational change, and it’s the focus of Joyce Wycoff’s latest post at the Heads Up on Organizational Innovation Weblog. She explains:

“AI asks us to pay special attention to ‘the best of the past and present’ — in order to ‘ignite the collective imagination of what might be…’ Appreciative Inquiry shifts our perspective away from problem solving which focuses on what’s wrong to building on what we do well.”

The originator of AI, David Cooperrider, will be a keynote presenter at the Convergence 2004 conference (September 26-29, 2004). For more information on Appreciative Inquiry, you can also visit Cooperrider’s Web site.
