The juggling act of employees at small firms isn’t all fun and games. Often, the drive to be more productive in business is counterproductive for innovation, as team members find themselves and their creativity drowning in the demands of multiple company roles.


SmallBizTrends asked female members of the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC), an invitation only nonprofit organization comprised of the country’s most promising young entrepreneurs, asked its members for their advice for continually placing innovation as a top priority. Their suggestions included designating innovation as a key performance indicator and setting lofty goals that help people to rally together around a shared mission and stretch them to expand what they believe is possible.
