New report: winning in emerging-market cities

Is your company paying close enough attention to the hundreds of smaller cities in emerging markets, where one-third of the world’s population currently lives? After a year-long global research effort, the Boston Consulting Group has released a comprehensive report, which they call a “wake-up call for companies under pressure to grow.”

The expectation that the emerging-market cities will continue to grow at a tremendous rate should cause your organization to reconsider their strategies and take fast action if they’re still focusing on the developed markets. The emerging-market cities will account for 30 percent of global private consumption by 2015 and the forecasted infrastructure investment in these cities is at $30 trillion to $40 trillion cumulatively over the next 20 years.
